Tamera Darvette Mowry-Housley (born July 6, 1978) is an American actress and singer. She first gained fame for her teen role as Tamera Campbell on the ABC/WB sitcom Sister, Sister (opposite her identical twin sister Tia Mowry).

Background

Tamera was born in Gelnhausen, West Germany to Darlene Renee Mowry (née Flowers) and Timothy John Mowry. She is two minutes older than Tia.

Timothy (who is British-American) was in the U.S. Army at the time of Tamera & Tia's births and later became a custody officer\jailer with the Glendale Police Department after the family moved to California.

Darlene (who is Bahamian-American) used to work as a security guard and managed her children's career. She and Timothy met in high school in Miami, Florida where they both joined the U.S. Army where they would eventually reach the rank of Sergeant.

Her family is described as "close-knit" and "very spiritual" as she & Tia became born-again Christians when they were 8 years old.

She also has two younger brothers, actor Tahj Mowry and Tavior Mowry, who used to play college football for University of California, Davis.

Personal life

Tamera Mowry is the first twin, older by two minutes. She married Fox News Correspondent Adam Housley[6] after dating for almost six years. Confirmed by Mowry while being interviewed on The Wendy Williams Show, they married on May 15, 2011 and her dress was designed by Carolina Herrera. They married at the Vintage Estate in Yountville, California (Villagio Inn and Spa) in California's Napa Valley. In April 2012, Mowry confirmed that she and her husband are expecting their first child, a boy, due on October 30, 2012.[7][8]
